Cameroon 2010 Rhinoceros Noir

A little older modern numismatic commemorative coin from Cameroon. This coin was issued in 2010 at only 999 pcs, from pure silver in weight of 2 oz. Speciality of this coin is Ruthenium plating on the coin. As a legal tender the face value is 1 500 CFA.

Ruthenium is a chemical element with symbol Ru and atomic number 44. It is a rare transition metal belonging to the platinum group of the periodic table.

The black rhinoceros or hook-lipped rhinoceros (Diceros bicornis) is a species of rhinoceros, native to eastern and central Africa including Kenya, Tanzania, Cameroon, South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, and Angola. Although the rhinoceros is referred to as black, its colors vary from brown to gray.
